How to Bring the Hope of Jesus to Others
How Can We Bring the Hope of Jesus Into Someone’s Hardest Moments?
Discover how to bring the hope of Jesus to people facing pain, fear, or hopelessness through prayer, presence, and everyday acts of love.
What happens when the Kingdom of Heaven encounters someone’s personal hell?
Jesus was never intimidated by the brokenness He encountered. Throughout the Gospels, He stepped directly into places of sickness, pain, rejection, oppression, and hopelessness—and brought the reality of Heaven with Him. Where there was sickness, He brought healing. Where there was bondage, He brought freedom. Where there was despair, He restored hope. And then, remarkably, Jesus commissioned us to do the same.
As leaders, it can be tempting to think our role is simply to lead people toward something—to provide vision, direction, wisdom, or strategy. But Kingdom leadership also calls us to be willing to go where people are, to meet them where they’re at. Sometimes that means stepping into circumstances that are messy, painful, uncomfortable, or seemingly hopeless and remembering that we do not enter those places alone or empty-handed. We carry the presence of God. We carry His hope. We carry His love. And through the Holy Spirit, we carry the authority of the Kingdom into places that desperately need an encounter with the King of kings.
So today, may we not be intimidated by the “hell” someone else may be experiencing. Instead, may we remember who goes with us and what He has entrusted to us. The darkness we encounter does not determine what is possible—the Kingdom we carry does.
«As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.»
Matthew 10:7–8 (NIV)
One Minute Watch
with Justin Collins, Senior Leader of Vanguard Church, NY.
Action Steps:
- Recognize: Who around you may be experiencing their own “personal hell” right now?
- Remember: Before stepping in, remind yourself WHO you carry. Christ lives in you, and through the Holy Spirit, His presence, love, hope, authority, and power go with you.
- Respond:
Choose one practical way this week to step into someone’s difficult circumstance and bring the reality of Heaven through prayer, encouragement, generosity, healing, service, or simply your presence.
