The Secret to Finding Your Breakthrough
What If the Key to Your Refreshment Is Refreshing Someone Else?
Discover the powerful principle of Proverbs 11:25 and how refreshing others can bring refreshment to your own life.
How often do you find yourself consumed by your own problems, challenges, and personal goals?
In today’s world, the constant messaging around us pushes us toward being self-focused. We ask the questions: “How can I improve my life? What’s best for me? How do I overcome my struggles?” While it’s natural to care for our own needs, an inward focus can blind us to the opportunities right in front of us to bless and serve others. When we lift our eyes from our own concerns and truly see the people around us, something powerful shifts. We move from self-centeredness to generosity, and in that posture, we often discover unexpected joy and purpose.
When we help someone in need, we often find solutions to our own challenges. As Daniel Maddry said, “Sometimes God hides our breakthrough in the needs of others.” As you invest your time, attention, and resources into refreshing those around you, stay open to how God may bring refreshment and breakthrough back into your own life.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be refreshed by turning down a chance to help someone in need. God often places miracles and solutions in the most creative places.
Let’s keep our eyes and ears open to the creative leading of the Lord.
«The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.»
Proverbs 11:25 NLT

Action Steps:
- Identify one area where you need encouragement or breakthrough, then intentionally help someone else who is facing the same challenge this week.
- Make “refreshing others” a daily habit by doing one intentional act of service each day. Send an encouraging text, help your neighbor, pray for someone.
- Take note of when God uses these circumstances to bring breakthrough in your life.
