Prioritizing Presence: The Key to Balanced Leadership and Productivity

Learn practical steps to integrate God's presence into your daily routine and discover how it can enhance your leadership and productivity.

Are you too focused on productivity to notice the importance of God's presence in your leadership journey? Whether you’re in ministry, business, home life, or any other profession, it’s easy to miss God’s presence in the day-to-day places He wants to meet you. Take time this week to slow down and find God’s presence in your daily routine.

Remember the story of Mary and Martha—where Martha was absorbed in serving Jesus during His visit while Mary slowed down to sit at His feet. Though her work was valuable, Jesus responded, “My beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by these many distractions? Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet.” (Lk.10:41-42 TPT)

Jesus was encouraging Martha to recognize the greater value of the moment—to not let our work for Him distract us from simply being with Him.

8 Ways to Steward God's Presence Daily:

  1. Don’t limit God’s Presence to just a church service or devotional. Keep your spiritual senses open to recognize God’s presence all around you.
  2. As you discover His Presence in the ordinary moments, watch as His peace fills your life and things come into alignment.
  3. Set a daily reminder on your phone for times in the days to slow down for 1 minute to connect with His Presence.
  4. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask yourself “Who is the King of my life today?” Re-focus on Jesus as being King over each area of your life.
  5. Simplify it. Ask Him a question. Express gratitude. Find Him in the room. Connection does not have to be over-complicated or over-spiritualized.
  6. Don’t underestimate what God can do in a moment of connection.
  7. Remember that God is present in your rest and in your work.
  8. Be expectant for how your greatest productivity and leadership can flow from being in His Presence.
